reporter: well they were largely positive in tone. ly say, jake, attorney general garland said this is the first time leaving the country underscoring how important the biden administration feels it is to work with mexico on security challenges. now what they did today was launch a new framework. and what that framework will develop ways that they could work together, the u.s. and mexico, to go after the illicit drug trafficking, to go after human trafficking, to go after criminal networks that are operating on both sides, particularly here in mexico of course. and the idea here is that this will supplement potentially replace a new an old framework, an old initiative put in place in 2008. that essentially gave the united states the green light to provide mexico with going after criminals here in mexico. but the idea here that the biden administration is rolling out is that they ll be able to go after these issues at a deeper level.
