When Callen was a child, he spent some time living in Romania with his mum Clara and sister Amy Callen (Lily O’Donnell).
However, as Callen’s grandfather had killed a member of the Comescu family, they swore to take revenge and end the Callen line by killing those who descended from George.
Clara was killed on a beach as one of the assassins distracted a young Callen with a toy.
He and his sister were able to go to America and ended up in the foster care system and unfortunately, they couldn’t stay together.
