TURNERS FALLS The Turners Falls girls basketball team couldn’t have asked for a better way to enter the Christmas break. The Thunder picked up their first win of the season on Wednesday, but more importantly, it came against their top rival who has.
Hannah Mackin found the back of the net twice in a five-minute span late in the first half to get the Frontier girls soccer team off and running. The Redhawks finished it off en route to a 5-0 win over Pioneer in an independent contest Monday at.

The 2021 winter season has come to the close in the blink of an eye, and with the dust starting to settle, let’s take a quick look back on how this season, one like no other, played out.
With no postseason tournaments, there was no definitive champion, though Friday’s matchup between Pioneer and Mahar was a battle for the top boys record in the Franklin County League.
