you can t plan for really disaster at that kind of level. but a lot of people say both the feds and the locals could have done a lot more to prevent this level of tragedy. we all could have done better. don t get me wrong. the thing that i think about and worry about a lot is when i called for mandatory evacuation was it too late to call for it? could have been. i had a ten-hour window. overnight. i m not sure people would have responded. but before that we had gotten about 95% to 96% of the people out. we didn t get out of them out. you talk about the bumpy relationship with the democratic governor of your state. let s talk later about the bush administration if you want to talk bumpy. let s talk about that. do you think that the difficult relationship you had, you didn t support her for governor. you supported the republican on that. did that cause some problems in communication? i think there was some residual from that strained
