when we bring each of the floor, we will speak out against anti-semitism. anti-islamophobia, antiwhite supremacy, something that is one resolution addressing these forms of hatred. not mentioning her name, because it s not about her. it s about these forms of hatre hatred. melissa: chief congressional respondent mike emanuel has more from capitol hill. good afternoon. we thought we would see language of that modified resolution but so far it has not been released. ilhan omar offended a lot of her colleagues when she said support for israel was basically dual loyalty. speaker pelosi has tried to explain it as omar not fully grasping the weight of her words. a florida democrat is calling for a strong response. the fact is that using anti-semitic tropes like the dual loyalty charge, which i take so personally both as a member of congress and the son
of a world war ii veteran. that language is unacceptable and must be condemned. but this has been a passionate argument in the house democratic caucus all week, with some pushing to broaden it. bottom line, that has led to this fight dragging on. i hope we have a strong resolution condemning anti-semitism. i was hoping we were going to do it this week. i don t know where it is now. but i hope we have that resolution. i hope it s forthcoming. we don t know where it is at the moment. some were already offended when congressman omar said several weeks ago that support for israel was all about the benjamin s, a reference to a hundred dollar bills. clearly there is a narrative being pushed that we are all controlled by jewish money. that s one of the oldest slams against the jewish people. since time began. that, follow the benjamins, that the stereotype of jewish influence to the media and money
or just on that montage there that this is even a debate. a resolution to condemn anti-semitism should be an easy vote, and it s really disturbing of the democrats can t get their act together and can present this resolution, which we still haven t seen yet, to do that very thing. it s a sad day. melissa: so far, 42020 presidential candidates from the democrats are defending congresswoman omar. they are senators kamala harris, bernie sanders, elizabeth warren, and kirsten gillibrand. what does this tell you about i don t know, the sentiment in the party right now? that s a very important question, isn t it? there is a fracture, obviously, and the democratic party. there is a radical leftist fringe that is really intolerant. particularly toward our jewish friends. the fact of the would and doris, even tacitly, that is a really shocking developing. our main concern as republicans in what we really pressed speaker pelosi on is that representative omar really has no place on the fo
determine where the heart and soul of the party is in relation to anti-semitism. we are still determining it. i don t like new resolution. of course, representative congresswoman omar should be condemned for anti-semitic remarks. that should be the end of it. i do salute those democrats because it is a big party, a big tent. i salute those democrats have stood firm in this and are making the point that this is an anti-semitism and it s not horrible and the democratic party. melissa: alex, there are democrats that are saying the republicans are exploiting this. pushing it further and trying to divide the party. what you think about it? number one, this has nothing to do with the rope wiccans. these were congresswoman s oman this is telling when you have people like aoc and omar who will say things like, i m the boss come and speaker pelosi does not assert her leadership, you don t use it, you lose it.
just reading all about [laughter] thanks to jake maccoby. you took some shrapnel. some incoming, but you survive. did you have the best time of your life? jake: always a pleasure. kennedy: what a great attitude! we are back at noon eastern tomorrow. here is melissa in for harris. melissa: fox news alert, it is dem versus dem is the house get set to vote on a resolution condemning hate. this is outnumbered overtime, i m melissa francis in today for harris faulkner. that vote following congresswoman ilhan omar s controversial remarks about israel could happen at any moment. the resolution originally targeting only anti-semitism, but democratic leadership was forced to broaden it out after some members came to omar s defense asking why she is being held to a different standard than president trump and other republicans. here is speaker pelosi, who also says omar won t be singled out in the text. we are working now on the resolution.
