the line-up for next tuesday s republican presidential debate was announced just a short time ago, and the big news is that new jersey governor chris christie has fallen off the main stage. eight candidates made that main stage by pulling above 2 1/2% in four recent national polls. john kasich, jeb bush, marco rubio. front-runners donald trump and ben carson, who will be center stage based on their poll numbers. ted cruz, carly fiorina, and rand paul. christie, once seen as a strong contender, even a front-runner for the nomination, will be relegated to the undercard debate earlier in the evening along with the other candidates polling between 1% and 2 1/2%. mike huckabee, who like christie was on the main stage in the last debate along with rick santorum and bobby jindal. in a humiliating turn lindsey graham and george pataki did not even have enough support to make it into the undercard debate. as for one-time front-runner jeb bush, he did make that main stage but not by all that muc
tea partiers, and independents. when you ve been on the show before, you haven t like donald trump, they re all losers, dopes, i ll make america great again. donald trump is a symptom of a party that has decided that it s going to govern based on special interests. not based on what they ran for. nobody ran in 2014 and said if you give us the house and senate, we re going to reauthorize no child left behind. nobody ran and said if you give the house and senate, we ll increase entitled spending, people are sick of it. the problem with the republican party that allows donald trump to be somebody at 19, 20% and not an aspect in the poms is that most voters hate their party. and that s what needs to be addressed. is there something, michael, that the more moderate candidate, and it s all relative, the more moderate candidates on the stage like bush, kasich, like christie, are there things they could do to win over that disaffected wing of the party? i think most will say the right
independents and former democrats. when you have been on the show you have not liked donald trump and that is the emergency, they are a bunch of leaderses and dopes and i will make america great. donald trump is a symptom of a party that govern on special interests. no one ran in 2014 who said if you give us the house of representatives and senate we will reauthorize no child left behind or we will increase entitlement spending by half a trillion. people are sick of it. it is a game and the problem with the republican party that allows donald trump to be someone at 19 percent or 20 percent is that most research voters hate their party. that needs to be addressed. is there something that more moderate candidates and it is relative, the more moderate candidate on the stage like bush, like kasich, like christie, are there things they can do to try to win over the disaffected wing? moist of them will say the right things. chris christie said great things on entitlement and john kas
came from this guy. maine s paul lepage who politico dubbed the craziest governor. like christie, he is one of the most unpopular governors in the country. he is now facing possible impeachment proceedings for allegedly withholding state funds from a school for at risk children unless it withdrew a job offer to a political foe. the endorsement came at becky s diner in portland where he described christie who campaigned hard as a blunt straight talker. for me in the first full day of my presidential campaign, to be able to come up here and receive an endorsement from somebody who knows what it is like to run a blue state. knows what it is like to make tough decisions, knows what it is like to engage in hand to hand combat to get thing done for the people that elect you. to get an endorsement from paul le page today is an incredible honor today. joining me now, john, i have to say from a branding
at bridge gaitte bridgegate that could change calculus. if you want to look at how new jersey has done there are certain things that you could argue there. but as a guy, you like him. people have the test who do you want to have a beer with. maybe that s one thing he passes. and the times had the headline even new hampshire bridgegate, he s getting jabbed over that. unfortunately, we started off the top of this with some of those clips. i don t think it was reflective of his day. it doesn t seem like it. i ll do a little more digging. it looks like he had a good day. there are a lot of politicians in any stage of their career who would love to have the launch in new hampshire like christie had. we re not getting swept away with the guy. just this is his story. and i ve been saying it here for a while. people who want to discount
