Pleasant Grove church torn down after overnight fire; no injuries reported

A Pleasant Grove church had to be torn down after a fire broke out early Thursday.
Dallas Fire-Rescue units were called about 1:30 a.m. at New Light Church, 9314 Elam Road, near North Prairie Creek Road, department spokesman Jason Evans said.
Firefighters could see flames coming through the roof of the church when they arrived, Evans said. About 40 firefighters responded to the scene.
The fire was extinguished around 4 a.m.
