Hailing from a small district in Bihar with limited education facilities, Suraj Bhagat dared to travel and gained experience – both academic and personal – from his stints in Ethiopia, Vietnam and the US.
'What attracted me the most is that I do not have to declare my major right away and I am given the opportunity to explore courses of my interest until the end of my sophomore year,' says Shriya Biswas.
'Having been accustomed to in-person classes throughout my schooling, the shift to remote learning was disheartening. The absence of physical interactions with professors and peers was a big change,' says Ava Khan about online learning.
While I anticipated some degree of culture shock, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the locals are incredibly hospitable and open-minded. I have developed a deep appreciation for the cultural diversity that Sydney offers.
