reporter: lieutenant snyder s job was to diffuse bombs for a navy seal team. he remained conscious as he waited for medic. he received 30 stitches and begin recovering at walter reed in washington. the blind lieutenant says his disability brings new meaning to the words he repeated so often, honor, courage and commitment in the navy. do you think those words don t mean anything until you really have to sit down and they are. when you go through something like this you start to appreciate learning those things early on and find it out on the way. he says one of the hardest part of his disability was not just dealing with being associate associated being blind bu being sidelined. he is now being fulfilled to his participation in the para olympics. big congratulations to him.
