PIERRE, S.D. Governor Kristi Noem issued an exemption for driver’s license renewals in early March as the coronavirus pandemic began to spread across the nation. Now, the deadline to renew those expired licenses and ID’s is
December 30, 2020.
Driver’s Licensing Program Staff have spent the last nine months attempting to reduce the backlog of renewals by having exam stations open on additional days. DPS is encouraging all citizens who have the ability to renew online to do so.
To apply online, visit Renew 2020 online. Individuals may access and print instructions and an application. The renewal fee is $28 for a regular license and $33 for a CDL.
