LIC has introduced a new non-par product, LIC Jeevan Utsav, featuring a combination of limited pay (5–16 years) with lifelong income. Non-par is a value-adding segment, and an increase in the share of non-par can boost LIC’s overall margins.
Nifty 50 and S&P BSE recorded modest gains as the Indian markets traded within a range with a positive bias. Sectors like Nifty Auto and Nifty Pharma achieved new all-time highs, while mid and small caps continued to surge.
Shares of LIC surged 9.7% during Friday s trade, hitting a 10-week high of ₹677.65 apiece, marking the largest intraday gain since listing in May 2022.
On a year-to-date basis, the stock has given negative returns of nearly 12%, whereas the benchmark Nifty 50 has given positive returns of over 7% in the same period.
