Government plans to raise Rs 21,000 crore through the public issue and the insurance behemoth has unleashed a major awareness blitzkrieg, exhorting policy holders, employees as well as the general public to subscribe it wholeheartedly.

Government plans to raise Rs 21,000 crore through the public issue and the insurance behemoth has unleashed a major awareness blitzkrieg, exhorting policy holders, employees as well as the general public to subscribe it wholeheartedly.
The issue comprises an offer for sale up to ₹20,557 crore where the government will offload a 3.5% stake. Also, LIC offers ₹60 per equity share discount to LIC policyholders, and ₹45 per equity share discount offered to retail investors.
