TRIPOLI, April 4 (Xinhua) The President of the European Council Charles Michel on Sunday met with the Prime Minister of Libya Abdul Hamid Dbeibah in the capital Tripoli, and stressed the European Union (EU) s support for stability in Libya. Michel expressed the EU s readiness to provide all forms of support to the Government of National Unity to enhance stability in the country and hold elections, said a statement issued by the Libyan Government of National Unity. Michel also emphasized that all the EU countries speak with a unified voice regarding supporting the Libyan authorities in all issues, including development, immigration, security, and elections, the statement added.

The work to open the Maltese Consulate in Tripoli is at a very advanced stage as well as that of opening, once again, the Embassy in Libya. This was announced by Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Evarist Bartolo during a meeting with the designate Prime Minister of Libya Abdul Hamid Dbeibah.
The Prime Minister designate Abdul Hamid Dbeibah said that Malta has always offered friendship and help to the Libyan people and the Maltese people are regarded as friends.
