STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. When an artist spray-painted a “Cinco De Mayo” announcement on the shuttered gates of The Phoenix, West Brighton neighbors buzzed on the future of the storefront. But Burrito Bar satisfied that curiosity by announcing this week that it would be rolling into the space for a one-day gig on Cinco De Mayo.
Burrito Bars owners Kim Beckett and Andrew Greenfield will offer a pop-up restaurant at 382 Forest Avenue. For those 21-plus, eats will include $2 food specials tacos, Mexican rice balls and mini-chimichangas. A $5 menu features quesadillas plus guacamole and chips. Drink deals for May 5, 2021 are $6 margaritas and sangrias along with $5 sangrias and White Claws.
