Pittsburgh Public Schools will shift 17 schools to remote learning today, with eight expected to reopen Wednesday and nine others to remain closed for the rest of the week. District officials says the closures are due to staff shortages caused by a spike in COVID-19 cases.
Students in 12 Pittsburgh Public Schools will learn remotely Monday because of covid-related staffing shortages. PPS officials on Sunday cautioned parents and staff that announcements of individual building closures "may come swiftly" due to increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases and the subsequent impact on staffing.
