The federal government dropped a bombshell on 500 families in southeastern Indiana in early December 1940. Their homes, schools, churches and cemeteries across 55,000 acres in Indiana would be turned into an Army weapons testing ground.

MARTINSVILLE Footsteps in Faith recently presented its annual talent showcase. The program featured an array of dance genres, as well as a vocal performance.
The show opened with welcoming comments by emcee Melanie Foley, followed by a moment of prayer, led by Libby Hedrick. The group s youngest dancers took the stage first with their tap dance to “Ain’t She Sweet” and later performed a ballet dance to “I See the Light”.
The petite class did a tap dance to “Mr. Postman” and a lyrical dance to “Hand to Hold.”
The junior dancers tapped to “Ac-cen-tchu-ate the Positive” and performed a lyrical piece to “Faith.”
