Australia had radically different COVID-19 experience to comparable nations01/06/2021|9min
Liberal Senator Andrew Bragg says the pressures faced by Australia are not the same as other comparable nations with respect to the coronavirus pandemic.
Mr Bragg defended the government’s rollout of the vaccine, which has been met with criticism for being behind targets set earlier this year.
“We’ve cracked more than four million initial doses,” Mr Bragg told Sky News.
“We have been able to do it in a more orderly fashion in Australia because there’s been a vastly lower level of community transmission.
“Living in Australia during this pandemic has been a radically different experience to people who have lived in the US or the UK.”
Liberal Senator and former 7.30 journalist Sarah Henderson says the behaviour of some ABC employees on social media is undermining the public broadcaster’s independence.

May be a case for crypto regulation21/05/2021|7min
Liberal Senator Andrew Bragg says there may be a case to consider regulating the cryptocurrency market.
Mr Bragg is chairing an inquiry into cryptocurrencies and digital assets to ensure Australia “stays ahead of the game”.
“The reality is these products are out there and people are using them and we need to make sure we have the right policy and regulatory environment to be able to maintain our competitive advantage but also to protect consumers,” Mr Bragg told Sky News.
“As the Liberal Party we don’t like additional regulation but there may be a case for more regulation to drive the outcomes we are seeking.”
Federal government following the advice of health agencies with India travel ban04/05/2021|8min
Liberal Senator Andrew Bragg says the government is “following the advice of health agencies” with regard to the temporary India travel ban and the harsh penalties for breaking the ban.
“We are following the advice of the health agencies here and putting in place the strongest possible deterrents and these are very strong deterrents,” he told Sky News.
“It’s regrettable they are necessary but we are trying to do our best to address the situation of the transmission that’s been occurring in places like Howard Springs.”
