PMC won’t register students whose details are unavailable

Islamabad : The Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has warned that it will not register the students, who were enrolled by private medical and dental colleges for the current academic year but whose details weren t shared with it.
According to PMC, the regulator for medical and dental education in the country, all privately-owned medical and dental colleges and universities were directed to produce the final certified lists of their admitted students by March 1.
It said all recognised private educational institutions had submitted the final list of admitted students except five, including the Dental Section, Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry, Karachi; Bhittai Dental & Medical College, Mirpurkhas, Sindh; Fatima Jinnah Dental College, Karachi; Isra Dental College, Hyderabad; and Baqai Dental College, Karachi.

Sindh has lost 40 more Covid-19 patients, including 31 in Karachi alone, in the past 24 hours. A senior medical professor is also among the cityâs latest victims.
Officials said that 11 of Karachiâs 31 fresh fatalities were reported in the cityâs District East, six in District West, four each in the Central and Korangi districts, and three each in the South and Malir districts. They said that one person died due to Covid-19 complications in Shaheed Benazirabad.
Karachiâs victims also included Prof Dr Muhammad Sarwar, who was serving as the head of the examinations department at the Darul Sehat Hospitalâs Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry. His colleagues said he was on life support for the past few days after contracting the coronavirus.
