With an overall improvement in its economic performance, China has the conditions and the basis to achieve its goals this year under its employment-first policy, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said on Monday.
China is speeding up its drafting of policies to further promote the domestic consumption recovery and expansion, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said on Wednesday, after the world’s second-largest economy is off to a good start in its economic recovery with better-than-expected performance in the first quarter.
Ahead of China s release of its first-quarter economic data, experts gave generally optimistic estimates of 4-4.5 percent GDP growth, citing a decent consumption rebound and strong fixed-asset investment in March.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has stressed that China will remain steadfast in comprehensively deepening reform and expanding high-standard opening-up, while also emphasizing that Chinese modernization is essentially different from Western modernization, which has features such as polarization and plunder, according to the Xinhua News Agency on Thursday.
China has accelerated infrastructure investment in the first quarter of this year to propel economic growth, launching more than 10,000 projects throughout the country.
