LINCOLNVILLE Bernard Ivan Young passed away October 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving family, including his wife Rachel, at the Sussman House in Rockport. He was born September 21, 1935, the son of Bernice (Lermond) and Ivan Young of Millertown.

OBITUARY: Richard Scoullar, 89, veteran, retired Air Force radar technician

Richard A. (Dick) Scoullar of Provincetown, died Tuesday July 6, 2021. He was 89. After months of failing health, he passed at home with his wife Eugenia and daughter April by his side.
Richard was born October 25, 1931, in Rhode Island. Enlisting in the Air Force at a young age, Richard proudly served as a radar technician for 24 years. Upon retiring from the Air Force as a Tech Sergeant, Richard continued his technical career in radar for the Federal Aviation Administration.
A lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, he served as Commander for the Lewis A. Young Post, VFW, in Provincetown.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars building in Provincetown has sat empty for nearly 10 years.
In May, the Select Board unanimously approved a request for proposals for a housing development at what is now the town-owned property at 3 Jerome Smith Road.
The vote on May 24 follows several years of debate on whether the property should go toward affordable housing or a new police station, or a police station and a fire department substation and training ground.
In the request for proposals, the town is seeking at least 44 housing units at mixed income levels including some market rate units. There may be an option to buy another parcel near the land, to add to the deal, according to Town Manager Alex Morse.
