(WMC) - As frigid temperatures drop below freezing, the City of Memphis has opened its third warming center for those who may be experiencing homelessness. Memphis leaders said the warming center will be at the Lewis Senior Center at 1188 North Parkway. The warming center opens Saturday, February 16, at 7:00 p.m. and will last until further notice. Credit: WATN Published: 5:27 PM EST February 13, 2021 Updated: 11:19 AM EST February 22, 2021 MEMPHIS, Tenn UPDATE 2/22/2021 - The City s three Warming Centers will be deactivated Monday morning, February 22.  Individuals in need of additional support will be routed to nonprofit partners. There have been a number of agencies that have worked to coordinate support for the Warming Centers over the past week.  They include: OEM, City of Memphis Parks, HCD, Shelby County Community Services, Shelby County Emergency Management, MATA, Community Alliance for the Homeless, Hospitality Hub, Room in the Inn, Constance Abbey, and the Travelodge Hotel.
