He was also directed to make sure basically that he safeguarded and preserve the material as well and its this early collection of veaux that actually is the foundation of the state state Library Research collection today. I am often asked which is the oldest book in the state library collection. We do have the pamphlets from 1496 which is the oldest item but its only seven pages long so we dont featured as a book. What led to think to believe that it belonged to him was notations throughout the book and sold by samuel, the book seller as copy, most likely because he could make many if associated with someone famous.
