Preliminary work has begun on the pedestrian safety and cycle track project on Clairemont Avenue, Commerce Drive and Church Street, and construction will begin in the next few weeks. Decatur's Deputy City Manager Hugh Saxon said erosion control fencing is being installed and surveying is being completed for the project.

Covington City Council has chosen the companies that will create a master plan for Central Park and recommend ways to improve downtown parking and traffic. It also voted Monday, Feb. 15, to select a company to rebuild a former wooden trestle railroad bridge near Covington City Hall for use as part of the Cricket Frog Trail.
