Police end search for missing Leverett man

LEVERETT Despite Leverett police officers and firefighters and State Police completing another extensive search of Richard Drury’s property in late March, the missing man’s whereabouts remain unknown nearly four months after his disappearance.
Police Chief Scott Minckler wrote in an email Wednesday that on March 24, K-9 troopers from State Police conducted another search of the area around Drury’s house on Dudleyville Road.
The search team included Minckler, Leverett Fire Chief John Ingram, Leverett Deputy Fire Chief Brian Cook and State Police Lt. Adam Hakkarainen.

Athol resident promoted
HADLEY UMassFive College Federal Credit Union (UMassFive) has announced the promotion of Athol resident Gina Maroni to senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer (CFO).
In her new role, Maroni will maintain her current responsibilities, including financial oversight, strategizing and budgeting for UMass Five, according to a press release. Maroni previously served as the credit union’s vice president of finance and CFO for the past nine months, and as associate vice president of finance and controller for 18 months.
Prior to joining UMassFive, she was the senior vice president of finance and CFO at Athol Credit Union in Athol, the release states. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Nick, and son, Luca, particularly camping in the summer and attending ice hockey games in the winter.

LEVERETT An extensive search for a man who has been missing from his Dudleyville Road home for several days is continuing.
Leverett Police Chief Scott Minckler said Wednesday that the search for Richard Drury, 69, was in its second day in the area of Dudleyville Road, between the Moore’s Corner section of Leverett, where the Leverett Village Co-op is located, and the Shutesbury town line.
Police officers were assisted by Leverett firefighters, Leverett Highway Department workers, Massachusetts State Police and Environmental Police, as well as the Greenfield Fire and Police departments. In addition to people searching on foot, the crews have used K9s, all-terrain vehicles, a drone and a helicopter without finding Drury.

LEVERETT An extensive search over the past two days for a man reported missing from his Dudleyville Road home was suspended Wednesday afternoon due to the snowstorm.
Leverett Police Chief Scott Minckler said Wednesday that more than 40 individuals assisted with the search for Richard Drury, 69, in the area of Dudleyville Road, between the Moore’s Corner section of Leverett, home to the Leverett Village Co-op, and the Shutesbury town line. That search included sometimes challenging wooded terrian on Drury’s property.
Police officers were assisted by Leverett firefighters, Leverett Highway Department workers, Massachusetts State Police and Environmental Police, as well as the Greenfield fire and police departments. In addition to people searching on foot, the departments have used dogs, all-terrain vehicles, a drone and a helicopter.
