Some Fianna Fáil TDs and senators at a parliamentary party meeting last night called for June s exams to be cancelled.
Senator Timmy Dooley is among those to call for a predicted grades model.
He also claimed students need clarity now.
Education Minister Norma Foley says the exams will go ahead in the traditional fashion, even though schools are closed until at least January 31st.
