putin is unprecedented in american politics. and is out of step with not just what democrats think but out of step with what up until the last few months, almost every republican thought. trump thinks he can work with putin to defeat isis and slams president obama and clinton for failing to work with the russian leader. they insult him constantly. no wonder he can t stand obama and hillary clinton. putin himself has teen flattering trump which analysts say is the pure calculation of a former kgb agent. i can imagine in the early stages, putin is getting trump to believe everything he says by flattery, by taking trump seriously, by complimenting him on his leadership ability. and then being a negotiator which he always is. she points out that putin
