students have been protesting tuition hikes saying they can t handle any more increases. today the actions are not expected to be all bad. they are planning to freeze tuition for undergraduates and endorse the governor s tax initiative which will be on the note of ballot if voters approve that plan uc s budget would increase by 125 million dollars. if it fails they would face cuts of 250 million tuition could go up 20%. regents will be pushing that tax initiative. bad news for students in graduate school on the table is an idea to increase fees for professional schools, law school 10%, business school fees 23%. the argument is graduate students don t protest as much as ungrads do and they are pitching this idea saying graduate students are often willing to pay they believe the education worth it and their jobs will be valuable enough. not great news today for graduate students undergrads look like they will be safe but there will be protesters to make sure their voices are he
