Dementia Action Week runs until Sunday. The Isle of Wight is marking Dementia Action Week, until May 23, with advice and information for Islanders worried about others, or themselves. Care home provider Greensleeves Care, which manages The Briars in Sandown, has launched an online advice centre, offerings tips and guidance for people supporting loved ones with dementia.
Scroll down for advice from the care home. Dementia affects one in fourteen people aged over sixty-five and one in six people aged over eighty. Steve Mason, an Admiral Nurse from The Briars, said; “For many people living with dementia, and their families, it is important that they can stay within their own home for as long as possible.
