When gordon became leader of our party in 1979, he was one of just two snp mps at westminster. Hopes of a new Scottish Parliament had just been scuppered. It was a tough time. But gordons commitment and political skill laid the groundwork for the snps future success. New members and Younger Voters may not know of gordons contribution, but it cant be overstated.
