Lloyd ‘Butch’ C. Steckbauer, 96, of Aniwa, died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at the home he built, surrounded by his family, under the care of LeRoyer Hospice Services.
Merwyn âMervâ Cross, age 84, of Antigo passed away on Dec. 15, 2020 under the loving care of LeRoyer Hospice and the staff of Care Partners.
Merv was born on Sept. 22, 1936, in Summit Lake to the late Irma and Charles Cross. He graduated from Antigo High School in 1954. After graduating high school, Merv enlisted in the United States Navy. He served from 1954-57 and was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Hutchinson, Kan.
After serving in the Navy, Merv moved to West Bend where he worked at Larryâs Bar and Door Electric. He then moved back to Summit Lake where he owned and operated Palace of Mirrors Bar.
