High winds and rain that got heavy at times pounded much of the Corpus Christi area late Monday and early Tuesday.
Although things appeared to have calmed down by midday Tuesday, weather officials warned the storms aren t over yet.
Parts of Corpus Christi received up to an inch of rain in some areas Monday night, according to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi.
Flooding was a concern in low-lying areas.
There were several reports of strong winds, especially in Jim Wells and Duval counties. Weather reports documented calls about damaged roofs and downed power lines in Alice and near Benavides. The Automated Weather Observation System reported severe wind gusts up to 70 mph early Monday morning.

Corpus Christi police need the public s help finding two suspects who stole a welder from a local business and may be connected to auto burglaries in the area.
Around 3:45 a.m. on March 29, the two suspects cut a chain on a gate of a local business at the 500 block of Leopard Street, a news release said.
A video show the suspects moving the trailer and welder combo out of the lot and onto their vehicle. The release said they drove westbound toward North Padre Island Drive.
The vehicle is a red Ford Ranger and the welder is a Lincoln Vantage 520SD, valued at $20,000, a news release said.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â The Buc Days Night Parade will be held Sunday night and KRIS 6 is ready to provide all the coverage.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines, the parade route won t be on Leopard Street as normal.
Instead, it will run right through the arena at the American Bank Center.
A limited number of tickets are still available to see it in person.
But if you can t be there in person, weâll be airing the night parade live on KRIS 6 TV and all our digital platforms.
