A Barbados Coast Guard vessel arrived in St Vincent a short while ago. The vessel is on a humanitarian effort as a result of conditions created by explosive eruptions of the La Soufriere Volcano.
Members of the Royal Barbados Police Force and the Barbados Defence Force (BDF) also travelled to St Vincent and the Grenadines to bolster security in the wake of the ongoing volcanic eruptions.
Speaking to the media prior to departure of the vessel last night, which carried the deployment and relief supplies, BDF Chief of Staff Colonel Glyne Grannum explained that the team would assist in anyway required by local law enforcement in St Vincent.
