A Madison County Grand Jury handed down indictments late last week involving two recent homicide investigations in the Riverbend. One concerned a shooting in Alton on February 13 and another in Godfrey involving two victims on February 1. In both cases, authorities say the victims and the suspects were acquainted with each other.
22-year-old Bryce Andrews, who formerly lived at the residence where the murders took place, was indicted on charges of first degree murder, residential arson, offenses related to a motor vehicle and concealment of a homicidal death. He is charged in connection with the deaths of his adopted father Robert Andrews and Leonard Ebrey who were found stabbed to death inside a burned home in the Rock Gate subdivision in Godfrey. In the Alton case, 44-year-old Arvin Freeman of Springfield, Missouri, was indicted on two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Robert Woods on February 1
