Town of Western worries disappear.at least for one night
Thursday, dozens of residents took a much-needed break from their hardships and headed to the Western Town Park for a night of fun and magic. Local magician Leon Etienne was on hand to perform some of his classic magic tricks, and he had no shortage of eager young volunteers.

WESTERN, NY - Mother Nature has not been kind to the town of Western this July. First, a tornado ripped through the community, about two weeks later, torrential rain and flooding.
Thursday, dozens of residents took a much-needed break from their hardships and headed to the Western Town Park for a night of fun and magic. Local magician Leon Etienne was on hand to perform some of his classic magic tricks, and he had no shortage of eager young volunteers.
Breathing new life and a new act into The Strand Theatre
After months of being shut down from the pandemic, the Strand Theatre is working on financially rebounding, but they’re taking a different approach at generating income.

If you’ve never been to the Strand Theatre, it’s kind of like a museum. The walls are filled with cameras, movie projectors, and a bit of history. The owners have poured their hearts and souls into the business, and Co-Owner Bob Card started to worry when the pandemic shut them down. The thing that something like this does tell you though is that your life can change in a second, and you know one day you’re cranking along and things are kind of stable, and then that’s over for a while and so you know if it had continued you know you could have had to shut down.
