A pair of Oklahoma males nearly drowned after the ice cracked under their feet on a frozen creek Saturday night in Taney County. Thirty-year-old DeMarco McCoy and 33-year-old Leo Satepauhoodle, both of Tulsa, were transported to different hospitals with serious injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, McCoy and Satepauhoodle were walking on Swan Creek at Forsyth. The ice gave way, and they fell into the water. Both men were rescued. Satepauhoodle was transported to Cox Medical Center Branson, and McCoy was sent to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted in the 11:25 p.m. incident by the Taney County Sheriff’s Office, the Forsyth Police Department, the Central Taney County and Western Taney County fire districts and the Forsyth and Branson fire departments.
