Indian politicians and activists on Monday condemned the arrest of a 22-year-old climate campaigner accused of sedition for helping edit an online document that Sweden’s Greta Thunberg had promoted in support of farmers protesting in the country.
Ms Thunberg had shared a toolkit or an action plan on Twitter which listed ways to help Indian farmers, who have been protesting agricultural reforms here they fear will ruin their livelihoods.
Over the weekend, police brought Disha Ravi, a leader of the Indian arm of Ms Thunberg’s climate crisis-related Fridays for Future movement, to the capital from her home in the southern city of Bengaluru to question her. Ms Thunberg said she had no comment on the detention of Ms Ravi.

Disha A. Ravi, 22, who was arrested by the Delhi police in connection with the Greta Thunberg ‘toolkit’ case on Saturday, has been a prominent young voice on environmental issues in the city for nearly three years.
In 2019, Ms. Disha, then a student of Mount Carmel College, was one of the co-founders of Fridays For Future (FFF), India, an initiative led by Ms. Thunberg. One of her friends, who did not wish to be named, said that as she hailed from an agricultural family, concern for the environment and climate change came naturally to her. Ms. Disha also saw the ongoing farmers’ protests as part of the climate change crisis, sources said.

Mallathahalli Lake in RR Nagar at a cost of Rs 19.07 crore. The project, many say, is a violation of

On Thursday, the BBMP floated a short-term tender for the construction of retaining wall for Mallathahalli lake. “The action plan was prepared long back. It was first cleared by the state government. We have also got the approval for the detailed project report (DPR) by the Karnataka Tank Conservation and Development Authority (KTCDA),” a
