Take-It-Back Movement Demands Unconditional Release Of Protesters Arrested Over Demolition In Lagos Community, Oworonshoki

Human rights and pro-democracy group, Take It Back Movement (TIB) has demanded the immediate and unconditional release of the organisers of the protests against the demolition of poor homes in Mosafejo Oworonshoki community in Lagos State. The group made this known in a statement posted on its X (formerly Twitter) handle, accusing the monarch of Mosafejo-Oworonshoki of being behind the arrest of three people for protesting against the demolition in the community which has led to the displacement of thousands of people.

The traditional ruler of Oworonshoki Community in the Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State, Oba Babatunde Saliu, has denied the allegation that he abducted one Mrs Ajanlekoko and some other victims of the recent demolition exercise in the community. The alleged victims are prominent protesters against the demolition carried out by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led state government in Oworonshoki. SaharaReporters had reported that Saliu was accused of abducting one Mrs Ajanlekoko, a victim of Oworonshoki demolition and a prominent protester against the demolition.
