That suspect was taken into custody within the last hour. Very scary evening here in berkely. We can go straight to the video where you can see the suspect in handcuffs before being taken off to jail. The chase all started in oakland around 7 o clock tonight near 14th nd harrison. During the Pursuit Police say the suspect rammed his vehice into an officers car. The suspect kept going and ended up in berkeleywhere he crashed into 2 other vehicles at the college and ashby intersection. The suspect then got out, ran inside a building and made his way to the roof. During that encounter police urged people in the area to stay away from the intersection. Just before 9 oclock he was apprehended. People in the area have been on edge all evening. One woman who was involved in the crash is still frazzled. We spoke with her husband. Take a look behind me, we can see the white dodge ram. Thats the suspect vehicle. It struck this car here at this intersection, and its in the process of being towed. We saw police take the man into custody after the chase and standoff ended. This all started just before 7 00, when a man driving the white dodge ram pickup truck crashed into an Oakland Police vehicle with an officer inside at 14th and harrison. That led to a chase on 580 eastbound. The man crashed into at least one other police vehicle. The driver got back onto 580, exiting in oakland, and driving into berkely. He crashed the dodge truck into at least one other vehicle at ashley and college. The husband of that crash victim says his wife is okay, just shaken up. Then the suspect gets out of his car and runs away. He ends up on the roof of a business where hes see
