A North Coast man will face court today, after allegedly blowing more than seven times the legal blood alcohol limit.
A white Holden Commodore was travelling through the car park of a shopping centre on Leisure Drive at Banora Point, when it collided with a Toyota hatchback around 3.30pm yesterday.
Thankfully, no one was injured in the crash.
Police arrived soon after, and spoke with a 45-year-old man who was driving the Holden.
He gave a roadside breath test and returned a positive result.
The man was arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station, where officers say he returned a reading of 0.359.

Man caught more than seven times legal blood alcohol limit near Tweed Heads
A man has been charged with high-range drink driving after allegedly being caught more than seven times the legal limit in the state’s North today.
About 3.30pm (Sunday 2 May 2021), a white Holden Commodore was travelling through the car park of a shopping complex on Leisure Drive, Banora Point, near Tweed Heads, when it allegedly collided with a Toyota hatchback.
Nobody was injured in the collision.
Police were called and officers from Tweed/Byron Police District attended a short time later and spoke with the driver of the Holden, a 45-year-old man.
