On Friday, Apr. 23, the YouTube channel 14F shared a video titled We re not disbanded! Can hate math, but can t hold back from f(x) (feat. Comeback Spoiler).
In the video, f(x) member Luna was their special guest. She read fans comments and answered commonly asked questions, as well as reminiscing over her days as a member of f(x).
I.O.I s Debut and Disbandment
I.O.I is a project girl group formed through Mnet s survival show called Produce 101 (Season 1). Out of the 101 trainees, only 11 contestants were given the chance to debut in the K-pop industry. These participants are Lim Nayoung, Jeon Somi, Kim Sejeong, Kim Sohye, Choi Yoojung, Kim Chungha, Jung Chaeyeon, Yoo Yeonjung, Kang Mina, Kim Doyeon, and Zhou Jieqiong or Kyulkyung.
I.O.I made their debut on May 4, 2016 with an extended play titled Chrysalis, which features the title track Dream Girls. Since then, the girl group promoted as a full group and as a sub-unit for less than a year.
Victoria is the last member of f(x) to leave the company.
On Sept. 1, 2018, fellow member Amber announced on her personal social media accounts that she had decided not to renew contracts with SM Entertainment. Following her on Sept. 5, Luna also left the company.
In October 2020, Krystal announced that she had officially left SM Entertainment to sign an exlcusive contract with H& Entertainment and has since then been focusing on her acting career.
In 2008, Victoria appeared in the music video of SHINee s debut song Replay, and garnered public attention. She then went on to debut as a member of f(x) in 2009 with Amber, Luna, Krystal and Sulli, and led the group as their team leader.
While Girl s Day has been gaining popularity since its debut in 2010, they established a stable fandom after releasing Something in 2015.
Since then, they received lots of love from fans as they produce hit songs one after another, but after the end of the contract in 2019, the members have been scattered to various agencies, making it difficult to see the entire group activities.
However, the possibility of a full-fledged comeback is slightly higher than that of other groups, as the members are still well-known for their close relationship to the extent that they meet regularly.
