A Co-ordinate Bench earlier this month had lamented how private hospitals set up on lands purchased at subsidies rates are reneging on their commitment to reserve some of their beds for the poor.
The Court said that the preventive detention of the lawyer was “an outcome of a preconceived mindset” and aimed to somehow keep him chained to jail bars even without any conviction in a criminal case.
An advocate from Ayodhya had filed a PIL alleging that there were encroachments on land given to the Indian Army. The Court, however, disposed of the lawyer's PIL decided to take it up as a suo motu case.
