ALERT bust nets drugs, cash and vehicles; five suspects facing charges

Ten firearms and nearly a quarter million dollars’ worth of drugs, cash, and vehicles have been seized following a series of search warrants in Lethbridge. Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams raided five homes and arrested five suspected drug dealers.
ALERT Lethbridge’s organized crime team concluded a lengthy drug trafficking investigation by searching five Lethbridge homes on January 21, 2021. Lethbridge Police Service helped with the searches and arrests.
“Organized crime harms our communities, and drug trafficking breeds violence, addiction, and ancillary crimes. This investigation is further testament to ALERT’s success in working alongside our partner agencies to disrupt and dismantle organized crime,” said ALERT CEO Supt. Dwayne Lakusta in a press release.
36 milliliters of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB); 826 tabs of LSD; $159,000 cash. The seized firearms which included a prohibted handgun, two shotguns, and seven rifles will be subject of forensic analysis. The cash and vehicles will be sent to the provincial civil forfeiture office for review. TRUSSVILLE – Coronavirus vaccines will be available for residents of a Trussville senior living center later this week.
According to Craft & Communicate Director of Public Relations Blair Burney, Legacy Ridge at Trussville, an upscale Atlas Senior Living community, is receiving its first round of COVID-19 vaccinations for residents and team members.
The vaccines will be delivered and administered on Thursday, Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Burney says the community is partnered with CVS to administer the vaccines.
Legacy Ridge is located at 7868 Gadsden Hwy. in Trussville.
Ervin Clay Pope passed from this life into Heaven on Dec. 11, 2020. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Joan.
Ervin is survived by his children Sheree Pair (Lawrence) and Jeff Pope (Ginger); grandchildren Jacquelyn Underwood (Todd), Allen Pair (Amanda), and Shane Pair (Andrea); great-grandchildren Cade and Maci Underwood, Ava and Anna Pair, and Max, Lucy, and Judy Pair.
Ervin was born Nov. 21, 1927. He lived in a time when mothers told their children to go out and play in the morning and didn’t see them again until dinner time. Ervin often shared stories of bicycling from his home in Woodlawn to Cascade Plunge three times a day and crawling through storm sewers at Forest Hill Cemetery.
