Bureau of Land Management officials signed off on an environmental assessment in April, approving the primitive road from Left Coulee to access the monument’s 35,500-acre Bullwhacker region.
The Bullwhacker area has been off-limits to the public since 2011 when a judge overturned a Blaine County attorney’s determination that the Bullwhacker Road was a public route.
Public comment opened Wednesday on a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) proposal to open a 0.6-mile segment of road providing legal public motorized and mechanize
