Town boss Paul Lambert has made four changes for this evening’s first-v-third clash with leaders Hull City at Portman Road with Luke Woolfenden, James Norwood, Keanan Bennetts and Emyr Huws all starting.
Town’s struggles against League One’s better sides continued as Hull City left Portman Road with a comfortable 3-0 victory. Mallik Wilks put the visitors ahead in the second minute, Josh Magennis made it two in first-half injury time and sub Tom Eaves made it three with 13 minutes left with the Blues, who are down to fifth in the table, never looking like they would get anything from the game.
Bersant Celina scored twice and Macauley Bonne and Wes Burns once each as the Blues came from behind to win for the first time this season as they defeated Wycombe 4-1 at Adams Park, ending the Chairboys’ 100 per cent home league record. David Wheeler gave the home side the lead on 17 but Town hit back with Celina’s first 10 minutes later. Bonne made it 2-1 with his 11th of the season six minutes after the restart and Burns added the third on the hour, before Celina added the fourth in injury time to add the icing to a brilliant Town victory over one of the sides making the early season running.
