The dream of a Joint Educational Center continues, but it wonât be located at the former KL Megla building south of Fort Madison.
Dennis Fraise, President of the Lee County Economic Development Group (LCEDG), said he no longer holds out hope for purchasing the building, which is located in the Central Lee School District.
Fraise said LCEDG and Central Lee school officials held a final meeting earlier this week, but were unable to come to terms for moving forward.
âIn short, no, we didnât make any headway,â Fraise said. âWe met for about 90 minutes, even had three plant managers on the call.â
