Acting Beacon police chief hopes to make his position permanent

It s been a tumultuous time for law enforcement the past several months yet one man is hoping to make a difference.
Sands Frost, Beacon Police Department s acting chief since July, hopes to become the next chief in the city he was born and raised in. I d like to see everything run smooth with the police department and the community, he said. I think I can play a role with that. A big role.
He s also been with the department for 37 years. It s easier to police a community when the community trusts the police. And it s easier to police neighborhoods who want to work with you when crime does happen, he said.
