S. Korean Researchers Poached by China Could Pose Threat to Domestic Battery Makers

SEOUL, Dec. 10 (Korea Bizwire) A group of South Korean researchers poached by a Chinese company which is now transforming itself from property developer to electric vehicle (EV) and battery maker have turned out to be playing a key role in the rapid growth of the Chinese company.
Industry experts warn that China’s poaching of top South Korean researchers could deal a blow to domestic companies.
On Monday, Xu Jiayin, chairman of China’s largest property developer, Evergrande Group, visited the headquarters of the group’s battery research institute located in Shenzhen.
