The crowd at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium will be limited to 22,000. But that still has some health experts concerned that any crowd in a pandemic sends the wrong message.

The COVID-19 pandemic may not have kicked Super Bowl Sunday off the calendar. But organizers of this year’s big game are playing it safe with measures to avert a potential superspreader situation. Whether you’re at the stadium or watching on TV, there are things fans can do to protect themselves while cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or Kansas City Chiefs.
While the game will still be played with fans in attendance, the National Football League (NFL) has limited the crowd to 22,000, which is about one-third of the capacity of Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
