The Wadena County board heard an update from assessor Lee Brekke on the ongoing issues with land valuations stemming from a formal complaint filed with the Minnesota Department of Revenue.
A motion to reassess $90,388 in deferred special assessments failed on a 2-3 vote. Fourteen parcels have outstanding assessments for city street or utility projects.
Wadena County Board of Commissioners heard from multiple county residents concerning land valuations and the proposed levy in their Truth In Taxation hearing on Nov. 27.
According to former County Coordinator Ryan Odden, a complaint filed with the Minnesota Department of Revenue included a number of concerns brought forth by residents and the county board.
