The family of a 36-year-old mom killed in an attempted carjacking outside her house the day before Mother’s Day is now pleading for answers in her tragic death. “I just want to ask the public, the county, the state, if you have any information, please call,” said Douglas Mejia, Roxana Sanchez’s husband of almost 16 years. “She was gone way too soon, especially on a glorious day Sunday, Mother’s Day.”

Woman found wounded from shooting dies © Provided by Hearst Television, Inc. police lights A woman was shot and killed Saturday, and now investigators with the Orange County Sheriff s Office are looking into how it happened and who is responsible. Sheriff s deputies were first called at Lecon Branch Court at 12:42 a.m. to respond to a call about a shooting. Sign up for our Newsletters Investigators said they found a woman in her 30s with gunshot wounds. She was then rushed to the hospital for treatment, but deputies say she later died from her injuries. Authorities have not released any information on a possible suspect.
